"Dialogues in Action: a window to see Guatemala" through the civil association Guatemala, for 30 community leaders from Izabal, close to Agrocaribe's operations.


It was attended by mayors, Development Community Council (COCODE) members, farmers, teachers, and workers from Agrocaribe. The methodology of the activity focused on dialogue, and addressed issues such as citizenship, rights and obligations of the citizens.

During the two workshop days, the participants had the opportunity to speak openly about the current reality in which they live. The desire for a prosperous, safe, Guatemala with health and education stood out. Topics of creative citizenship were discussed and strengthened on how to be better citizens and cultivate civic values.The attendants talked about the community projects that they would like to develop and the ones that they are already participating in and received feedback from the rest of the group.

Motivational videos to build a better Guatemala were shown and the main challenges for building the Guatemala that we want: change of attitude, building common dreams and transforming dreams into concrete actions.The attendants talked about the community projects that they would like to develop and the ones that they are already participating in and received feedback from the rest of the group.

Objectives

The objective of the training was to awaken in participants the desire for ownership of the challenges of their communities and the country, to take action by participating in some project that will contribute to the development of Guatemala.
