Palm Oil (RSPO) representatives visited Agrocaribe’s operations after participating in the V RSPO Latin American Conference, held in Antigua Guatemala by the Palm Growers Guild of Guatemala (GREPALMA).

Agrocaribe, the first company to be RSPO certified in Central America, 4th in the world, and 5th in Latin America to obtain the –Identity Preserved- RSPO certification, participated as a panelist at the conference, sharing its experience in the certification process and its good agricultural, environmental and social practices. One of the commitments acquired in the certification is to be "open and transparent" and that is why Agrocaribe opens its doors to customers, suppliers, community leaders, international organizations, universities and any stakeholder interested in knowing its operations.

In this context, last week, Agrocaribe received the visit of the RSPO members of the board, who toured the plantations and palm oil mills and learned about the corporate social responsibility programs that the company implements.

“We have had a very positive experience. For many in my team, being the first time they come to Latin America, there is much to learn. We have much to learn, especially about the social projects, engaged more proactively than in Malaysia or Indonesia. We want to come back and share these experiences with our colleagues”.

Darrell Weber, RSPO’s Secretary General

RSPO representatives showed their appreciation and congratulated Agrocaribe for being RSPO certified pioneers in the region, having seen their responsibility during the visit to their premises.
